Is it considered a good Rip if I use Burst and the CD is not in the Accurate Rip database and the rip produced no errors?

No, there is no verification, only if AccurateRip says it is ok will it be ok.

Is there a best practice document for the procedure when ripping an album that is not in the AccurateRip database?

Just switch on Secure Ripping, if it is in accuraterip then it will effectively burst rip and finish fast if can be verified.
