A really easy question about confidence level

Can someone plese tell me how these confidence levels work? Is 1 good or 24 bad or is 24 good and 1 bad.

The confidence number is how many people agree with your rips, so the higher the confidence the better.

I just started ripping my collection and I was surprised how low the confidence number was on my CD's. Most less than 10. Is the AccurateRip database pretty new? Perhaps I just listen to oddball music.

Remember each CD has diffferent pressings, so is a unique cd.

Ok, how does dbpoweramp determine the pressing? Is that information present on the CD or is it looking up some sort of checksum calculated from the CD or something else? Thanks Bob

It's determined by the information on the CD itself, though exactly how is unbeknownst to me. All I know is that if the CD is a different pressing, it looks different enough to AccurateRip.

OK, I guess as a test I could unplug my ethernet connection and see how much information it can pull from the CD.

I received my first error message tonight when ripping. I copied the log below for the first two tracks and the others are the same. Does this mean I did not match the 9 other rips on AccurateRip but the secure pass thinks I am ok?

Was that directed toward me? If yes, you will notice the log file says "Inaccurate" and the screen had a red x next to all the tracks after ripping. It seems dbpoweramp was trying to tell me it failed with accurate but was happy with the secure pass. Thanks Bob

If all the tracks say inaccurate but dMC says secure and the CD is in good condition, you probably have a different pressing than what is present in AccurateRip.

IC, and Accurate was not able to determine that at the beginning. Ok got it,
