-An ideal thread would consist of one or more posts giving a recommendation with settings, zero or more posts stating that a previous recommendation is bad, and no other posts
-Best in another thread since this one has already broken the rules!
I would not mind reading a complex thread on the subject if it contained one recommendation from a respected person, but other _potential buyers_ would.
I understand that spoon may not want to give a recommendation even though he will certainly be able to. But I think if there were generally accepted recommendations more people would buy dbpoweramp reference. The information is hard to come by and seems to require specialized learning (eg about caching), whereas a big draw of dbpoweramp reference would be that it is easy to rip cds accurately, with no learning, no complex setting up, just a little money.
Just my thought. If developers/others don't think it would be good to have such a thread, just ignore.
