Changing options resets ripping speed to maximum

My CD-drive will only rip if set to a low speed (I use 4x). However, if I change any options (tagging, you name it) without a CD being present in the drive at the time, it automatically defaults back to maximum. This is a bit annoying if I forget to set it back to 4x.

Is there a way to make 4x (or any other speed other than maximum) the default?

    Thanks.

This doesn't seem to happen for me.
What version of dMC (dBpowerAMP Music Converter) are you using?

    Best wishes,
    Bill

      12.4 registered.

To be slightly more precise - without a disc in the drive, maximum is the only option available.

Certain CD drives can be funny rporting the speeds back, some need the disc in the drive, most do not.
