    Unusual codecs

I need to convert a flash drive from mp3 to either m3u, pls, or wpl. This is for use in a 2022 Chevy Silverado
which will not play my mp3. According to the manual it will only recognize the abvove 3. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks, John.

    Re: Unusual codecs

    Hey John,

all three formats are not audio codecs for music files but types of playlists. The player reads those playlists and plays the refered music files in that order. So the type of playlist is not a hint for the needed audio codec.

Thanks for the reply Dat. I have never run into this before. How do I apply these playlists to my drive to enable it
      to work? JW

        Hey John,

playlists are text files and refered and list audio files with their paths (with relativ or absolute pathes). Usually you create playlists with an audio player, but AFAIK dBpoweramp can create playlists too. But I'm not a specialist in that topic because I' don't use static playlists at all.

Nevertheless - beside the playlist you need the audio files which are refered by the playlist. Are there no hints in the manual for the car audio system? Or don't you have a functioning example? What happens if you copy simple mp3 files to your flash drive and use it the drive with your car audio system?

          Re: Unusual codecs

Actually I already have about 10 gig of cb's on flash drive, originally done with wma but converted to mp3 when wma began to not be supported in various vehicles. I have had this setup for years, and I run identical flash drives in my car and
pickup, which is a 2016 Silverado. (The car is a 2021 Mercedes, both support mp3.) I was looking into trading for a 2022
Silverado, but wanted to check to make sure it would support the flash drives, since I listen to them 90% of the time. When I
plugged my drive into the new truck it did not recognize it at all. Looking at the manual all it says is that usb supports the 3 files mentioned above. So your suggestion was right on, except that I have been doing this since about 2013. Anyway I am not in any great hurry to do this trade, so will probably hold off until I can figure this out. Unfortunately I am not the most computer savvy person around so my learning curve can be a little longer. I sure appreciate your interest.

Also is it possible to do this conversion through dbPoweramo?
