Trim silence

I have tried to use many different settings for the DSP effect "Trim silence" on the attached file, but am completely unable to trim the silence from the beginning and end of this file. Any help would be appreciated.

Using R17.2, converting to Wave, with DSP effect 'Trim Silence' set to:

Beginning
Trim Silence from End

Detection 50ms
any value below -54

and it trimmed correctly.
