How many cores can Batch Converter use?

I was recently using an Intel i7 with 6 cores/12 threads, Batch Converter converted 12 at a time. My new box has an AMD Ryzen with 12/14, which are all seen by all programs that I've checked. I just did a batch conversion and it used 16, which was nice and fast, but left me wondering about the other 8. Hard limit in the program?
