Adding a network music library

Hi I'm adding my music library to batch converter it is on a nas so I would add it using the UNC //192.168..../music
But it seems imposible, I have to map it using a network drive and add the network drive.
Is it correct?

Mapping is the correct way of doing it.

Yes but mapping is dangerous...ransomwares look for mapped drives...

Ransomware can just as easily look for network shares...
