Updating / changing ID3v2 Text Encoding

Is it possible to update or change the ID3v2 Text Encoding in mp3 tags without converting the complete mp3 files? I.e. from Unicode-16 to Unicode-UTF8?

Yes, convert to [ID Tag Update] as the encoder, it will read the tags, remove them and rewrite as the options set in Control Center.

Thank you, Spoon, that is good to read. I did not have in mind that Sonos is that picky when I'd setup my new computer.

Short follow up question: will the files rewritten always in complete, or will the old header updated / a new added?

Depends on format, id3v2 has tags at the front, it could be the file is shuffled.

But if the file is shuffled, that should be no problem for the usual music players, should it? And in the end updating the files and the metadata should be faster than reconverting from the original flac files?
