    Batch Performance with Windows 10

Just wanted to check with other users to see how the performance fairs with Batch Converter and Windows 10? Some comments and questions....
    • Batch converting a small group of songs - less than 25 -- took seconds and the encoding speed maxed out at ~500x
    • A larger batch conversion - 170 songs - obviously took much longer to process (about 25 mins) and never got above 55x encoding speed. In fact, finished at 33x.

During both processes the following was the same:
    • No other processes running
    • All were converting FLAC to ALAC
    • All were redbook - no high-res - all with same settings

Does the number of files in a batch process impact of encoding?
    Any other items for consideration?

    Thanks!

It suggests that the writing of the files is the bottle neck, 25 files and the operating system would cache the writes to some extent.
