    FreeDB in BatchRipper

    Hi,

I'm struggling a bit with inconsistencies in metadata between CDRipper and BatchRipper.
BatchRipper sometimes don't include any metadata, even though metadata is present.

The CD I'm testing is a brand new release, and I already know the ISRC's and UPC.
When I rip it with BatchRipper I get nothing. I tried to edit the settings by opening CDRipper through BatchRipper, and it correctly shows all of the metadata, including ISRC and UPC, but when ripping with BatchRipper it returns nothing, and sometimes not even track titles, artists, and albums.
I discovered through the de-bugging report, that BatchRipper tries to fetch data from freedb through the old gnudb.gnudb.org.
CDRipper is set up to fetch through freedb.dbpoweramp.com.
I suspect that this might be the issue.
Is there any way to fix this in batchripper?

We will update batch ripper soon, it is likely GD3 is also the difference, you have to subscribe to that in batch ripper. Click on review metadata in CD Ripper to see where it came from for a bunch of discs.

Yeah okay, so I can’t edit the freedb source in batchripper? I haven’t been able to download the update files for quite a while. I get some kind of download limit.
      I already subscribe to GD3.

          Hey again Spoon,

I just tried out some different metadata configurations.
The CD I'm testing is brand new, and I have been trying each metadata provider individually to see who provided what in CDRipper.

          1. Freedb (freedb.dbpoweramp.com) provided nothing.
          - I suppose it's not in the database yet.
          2. CD-UPC provided UPC.
          3. CD-ISRC provided ISRC.
          4. CD-Text provided nothing.
          5. GD3 provided everything except ISRC and UPC.
          6. Musicbrainz provided nothing.
          7. AMG provided nothing.

It seems that BatchRipper is not reading the local data embedded on the CD.
Is there a something I'm missing?
The most important data to me is the UPC and ISRC.

There is an option to read the metadata from "CD Text" in the menu "Retrieve Metadata From". At least in V17.7.

              Ah, okay. Thanks.
              I'm working in 15.3.
I also have 16.6, but it's not installed.
Do you know if that will work?

Else, I'll have to buy v17 I guess.

Do you know if this update is only in v17?

V17 is not the latest version and I doubt, that you can buy V17 nowadays at all.
