    "converting" wav to wav etc

    Hi

i have a messy library of various file types - wav, mp3, wma etc - and i want to create a wav and a flac folder. i know i wont get improved quality from my lossy tracks, but i want to do it for filing.

I will do this as a big batch to streamline folder organisation. Will a wav file "converted" to a wav file get degraded in any way or are there any good reasons to avoid this?

    thanks
    Z

You are best to install the "Arrange Audio" utility codec from Codec Central, then convert all the Wave or FLAC files to this encoder, it simply renames the files, you can set the naming as:

    \[extension]\[origpath]\[origfilename]

and it would put in \wav\ \flac\ folders
