Check your tags for ArtistSort and see if you have it labelled as "Smith, Patti" there. There is a configuration option as well for having Asset to use or ignore this sort tag, or even to use both.
Use - sort under "S"
Ignore - sort under "P"
Both - sort under both "P" and "S"

Hello everybody

I just installed Asset the first time as trial on QNAP. I like it a lot. But I have the exact contrary request to tw0sheds. I would prefer to sort by lastname but do not find the option to do so. Hence, "Patti Smith" apprears under P but I prefer it to be under S. Where can I find the option?

It is not an option, you can add Artist Sort tags to your files then they will appear how you want them, however artist sort tags are not shown, they dictate where the item appears, the original artist name is always used.

Did you check your tags? Do the Ian Hunter and Ian Gillan tracks have "Artist Sort" tags? And if so, what is the content?
