I use Asset on a Synology. I have albums in Flac (16 and 24 bit PCM up to 384 Khz) and DSF (up to 128). Because some of my DAC's do not support DSD (or only support DSD 64 and not DSD 128), I decided to switch DSD (i.e. DSF files) to transcoding. There are a couple of options (mainly LPCM and WAV). If I use WAV, it works fine but artwork do not show up. If I use LPCM it does not work at all (i.e. files don t show up in Asset; the album does show up but not the music files). What does LPCM exactly mean and what is the practical difference with WAV in this case?

LPCM is a different audio format, not all players support it. -

No metadata is transferred when transcoding, that said with UPnP most players does not read the ID Tags from files (because they can be at the end of the file and it would take a long time to read the file before playback), instead they read the tags from the UPnP server which passes them out.Comment
