Which UPnP server are you using? Asset should automatically join tracks of an album (you can install Asset on the QNAP).

am using 6.3 on my Mac mini, tried installing on the qnap but could not get it to find my library. it is very frustrating when you import a compilation and asset finds 24 separate tracks. some times it imports correctly but sometimes not. help?

        Re: compilations

To group a compilation together you need to either:

Have the album artist the same for every track on the CD.

        or

Set every tracks compilation tag to 1

This will allow asset to join them together.

I had this issue when I first moved to Asset - I did as Spoon suggested at the time and used the compilation tag. It's always worked.
