Remote access to Asset Upnp on a Synology NAS with JRiver

I run Asset on a Synology. All the music files are on there. I use JRiver a lot and I run it on a MACbook (i.e. library management and renderer). I worked fine. Within the home LAN Asset Upnp server is automatically flashed to JRiver, it shows up on the laptop, and I can use. It works fine. Next step is that I want to access Asset Upnp on the NAS when I am away from home with my laptop/JRiver. Does anyone do this?

UPnP does not work remotely as it relies on local broadcasting.

Even VPN into your own network potentially would not work.
