Qnap Specific update please

Hi,

As a disk on my NAS is down, i will replace them with a new set of 4. Luckilly, i have a 8 bays NAS. So i will create a new pool with the new disks. The problem is that my NAS has all the updates in its OS and "shell in a box" does not work anymore on it.

How will i be able to find the right adress folder for asset in the new set of disks?

Thank you for your answer.

If you go to the root of the network share (the nas name), the 2nd location might be there.

Thank you very much for your answer. Actually, the adress is -> /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/MusicHD
So i can guess it will be -> /share/CACHEDEV2_DATA/MusicHD ?
I will come back to you when i will have done the migration of the files.
Best regards.

I am not sure, perhaps ask on a qnap forum where there are many people who have done this.

Note that asset uses the internal path of the device, not the /share/ folder, however it will be obvious what to set once you know the new share location, and see the old location in the asset configuration page.

Ok got it, so as Asset does not use the internal path of the device, what should it look like ?

I posted the question on the Qnap forum - no anwser for the moment.

Also, how does asset find the right folder for the new owners of Qnap NAS ? I can try that way ?

Thank you for your answer.

Ok

Instead to break my head around that. I will simply replace disk per disk and have the step "reconsruction" after each replacement for each disk. After the 4, i will be able to "extend the pool size".

Anyway, i think you should think about the way to install asset on the new Qnap NAS. Other than me will have the problem.

Best regards

Asset searches for the default music location, if you log into Assets configuration page you will find the internal path it is using.
