Asset 5.1 disappearing after short time

Asset 5.1 constantly disappears from Linn Kazoo and BubbleUpnp of all my 3 Android devices after a period of 30 min. to a few hours. Music continues to stream without interruption. Asset is running on a QNAP TS112 with the latest firmware (4.2.4 Build 20170313) and the NAS continues to be visible on the network when Asset disappears. The own mediaserver of the QNAP remains visible as do a Raumfeld mediaserver and all of my streaming devices. Switching Asset off and on with Qmanager makes Asset available again for a limited period of time. Uninstalling and reinstalling Asset does not help. Neither does a restart of all network components and of the NAS.
Any compatibility issues with Asset and the current Qnap firmware?

It is possibly router related, which router do you have?

It is a Telekom Speedport W 724V. I have reset it several times but with no success. Forcing Asset to scan the library every 5 minutes doesn't help either. Some weeks ago everything was fine (with the same router). For me it seems related to recent upgrades. However, I can't tell wether it was the upgrade from Asset 5.0 or the recent firmware upgrade of the QNAP.

Unfortunately my solution has been to install Minimserver on my QNAP and it is rock stable there. So I have two mediaservers on my QNAP that do well and Asset that keeps disappearing. Maybe there might be something on Assets side that could be optimized? Would return to Asset happily.

I'm sorry but I have no idea why it would act like this.

For reference, I run Asset 5.x on two QNAP devices at all times without any reliability issues.

Note that if Asset's network service isn't seen, rescanning library will not help with it - library runs in a separate process. "Restart Asset" command might help (re-announce ourselves).

For reference, you can try this old version-
What is this? Why another R4? This is a maintenance update aiming to address of the few remaining known bugs in the R4 series - for users who have reasons to stick with the old version. These fixes have been backported from the R5 codebase. If you already run R5, you should disregard this update. Changes since R4.7.1:

See if the bugs are also present.
If it works correctly, I'll check for differences in UPnP code between R4.7.2 and current codebase.

Thanks for your reply. As you suggest rescanning the library does not help, but restarting Asset does for a limited period of time. Then vanishes again. Will see if 4.7.2 is a solution. Might take a few days to find the time to test. But will report back.

Since downgrading to the 4.7.2 package you offered Asset is completely reliable again. I did not change anything else in my network, QNAP or control points since. So it might be worth looking into the UPnP code for the sake of Assets stability even if it is just me having problems. Thank you.

QNAP firmware update to 4.3.3 seems to have fixed my problem with Asset 5.1. Is now reliable again.

Thanks for getting back to us about the issue, I'm glad it is sorted out, as I've not been able to find any reason why this was happening on our end.
