Asset Stopped Working with Linn Kinsky and Kazoo on 4 Android Devices

In the last few days my Asset Server stopped working, i.e. did not appear nor did the active music playlist appear on the screen of my Android cell phones. A non-retrievable note appears on two Android tablets. I have checked everything I Know to check and nothing helps me.

On the Android devices, a small icon containing a number 1 or a letter I appears at the bottom of the Android home pages. I cannot find any discussion of the icon.

Up till the time of failure, my system worked flawlessly and Asset served 3 Linn DS units.

Can anyone tell me how to return the system to working, i.e. communicating so that Asset shows on the Android devices?

If you cannot see Asset or the Linn player, then the issue is network related and not specific to Asset, as even without a UPnP server it should list the players.

Spoon, I have 3 times broken down my music system, rebooted all, reloaded all applicable software/apps, started up everything one at a time and I keep getting the same results. Do you have any prioritized suggestions as to where I ought to look as nothing I know changed other than Android apps. on 4 devices ceased working adequately.

You would have to try a control point on another device, such as PC.

Asset, Kinsky and Kazoo are working on two PCs. The software simply ceased working on one Android smartphone and two good Android tablets. I cannot get anything to display under the Rooms Menu of the 3 mobile devices. Do these facts suggest to you where I ought to look for trouble on the network?

Please can you describe your setup and network in more detail? e.g. On which PCs is the Asset, Kinsky and Kazoo software installed? Apart from the PC that has Asset installed, do any other PCs/devices see Asset on the network? etc.

The main, dedicated music computer currently has Assrt, 3 Linn DS units with Konfig, Kinsky and Kazoo and is backed up with four automatic replicates of 9120 FLAC albums. I also maintain 3 remote manual back-ups. This computer is networked with a non-dedicated computer having a music folder, Kinsky and Kazoo. The non- music dedicated computer is my main control point when my Android mobile devices are not working.

Try powering everything down, including router, tablets, pc asset is running on then power back on, router first.

So, the main Asset PC serves the non-dedicated PC UPnP/DLNA software with no problems, it is just the Android mobile devices that do not see Asset?

Your original post says that your Asset Server stopped working, but from what you now describe, Asset is working, as you can connect from the other PC.

I assume the android devices connect to your network OK. What UPnP/DNLA client software are you running on the android devices?
