    Asset and Raspberry Pi

I currently use Asset UPnP on my Linux PC, where my files are stored, and I play music on my Pioneer N-50 using the (Android) Pioneer Control app. This mostly works well, but has some disadvantages.

I'm thinking of replacing the Pioneer with a Raspberry Pi 3 and a Hifiberry Digi+, with Max2Play, or perhaps Volumio2.

If I do this, any thoughts on the best way to organize it? There seem to be two options:
    (1) run Asset directly on the Pi and access the music across the network, or
    (2) run the Pi just as a renderer with Asset remaining on the PC.

What would be the best Android control software for my tablet?

    Any thoughts?

    - Richard.

You might not want to keep your pc on all the time so pi would be the way to go.

Control points, look at plug player, lumin, kinsky

So, apart from the PC being on, there's no advantage of one method over the other?
