Installing Asset UPnP Update on QNAP

I am currently running version R4.2 of Asset UPnP on my QNAP and wish to install the latest version R4.7. I have downloaded the latter but I am unsure how to install it. Do i follow the instructions for installing for the first time, or do I uninstall the old version first?

Also, is there a way that I can be notified of updates automatically in future so that I don't get so far behind again?

You can uninstall the old first, then reinstall (as though is fresh) the new version.
