Asset UPnP Premium V4.7 not working properly on TS-219P+

Hi Spoon,

I have got an older QNAP TS-219P+ NAS running latest QNAP firmware 4.2.1 (01/06/2016).

I recently updated my QNAP from your ASSET UPnP (Premium) v4.6.3 to V4.7 and have found that all music file formats (FLAC, mp3, WDM) etc play in ultra slow mode when accessed from a UPnP device, so that music/ voice sounds like a very slow record being played and it is unusable in this state .

The previous V4.6.3 worked fine, I've left all settings on default as per older working version 4.6.3 and also tried removing V4.7 and reinstalling V4.6.3 and as soon as I do this things go back to working well. On reinstalling V4.7 it goes back to being super slow sound again. So I know there is nothing wrong with the NAS or my UPnP equipment, as inbuilt Twonkymedia itunes works fine too.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Try the new R5, which is in the testing section of this forum.

Hi Spoon,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've followed your advice, uninstalled V4.7 and downloaded and installed Asset_5b6.qpkg as a trial version.

I've now tested it and unfortunately its exactly the same super slow sound again as V4.7 e.g. hasn't solved the problem.

I'm going to revert back to V4.6.3 which works for the time being unless you have any other ideas.

Its a a brand new DAB/ FM Radio with Wifi (Ruark R2 Mk3) with streaming capability http://www.ruarkaudio.com/products/r2-overview.

We have never come across this before (and Asset has been out for 7 years). The debug logs might show what is happening, try:

In R4.7 enable the debug log (in the configuration), browse to a single track and set it playing, after 30 seconds go back to the debugging log section to retrieve the log. Do the same for R5, then post here both logs please.

Thanks for your feedback. It will take a little time as need to install/ uninstall both versions, allow them to catalogue my library and play the tracks to create the logs, but I will do as you ask and post the logs ASAP accordingly.

I followed your instructions and ran a track for 30 seconds approx both on Asset UPNP V4.7 & R5B6 with debugging switched on and have attached the associated debug log txt files.

If it is helpful I could do the same with working version V4.6.3, just let me know if you need this to compare.

HI Spoon,

I downloaded R4.7.1 professional version and this remains not working as in everything playing super slow in similar fashion to R4.7.

I'm pleased to say R5b7 worked fine and have uploaded the log for you to look at.

I have not had time to test any other beta versions, other than the current beta version R5b10 appears in the list on my Ruark R2 MK3, but returns a network error when attempting to access it, so doesn't work at all I'm afraid.

I'm reverting back to professional working version 4.6.3 for the time being.

B7 worked, and B10 does not?

The log for beta 10 would be more useful in this instance.
