Niggly Win10 / Asset drop out problem

This is getting on my toot.

Since installing Asset 5.1 Premium on a Windows 10 pc I've been experiencing occasional drop outs when streaming, regardless of the bit density or file size. It doesn't happen on my QNAP v4.7, so I think it's a problem specific to Win10. BTW, I switched platform as I need DSD playback.

BTW, I don't think it's a problem with Asset as I also get problems streaming video via Plex, again pointing to Win 10 or the pc itself.

I've tried monitoring the network card and checking the event viewer but nothing obvious pops out.

Any ideas where I should look next?

    thx

Have you tried installing Asset R5.2 [Windows]?

Is your network using ethernet cables or wireless?

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that 5.2 was available. I'll check it out.

My network is cat6 end-to-end, and I don't get the problem on Sonos streaming directly from the QNAP either, so there's something about the pc hardware or Win10 most likely.

My network is cat6 end-to-end. I've no problem with the QNAP version or using Sonos direct from the NAS, which is why I suspect the pc itself or Win10.

Well, I installed 5.2BETA and had a good three hour listening session last night, without a single drop out. Good news!

Uggh, spoke too soon. Multiple drop-outs today. Still no apparent cause :(

You can install asset on the QNAP.

Thanks Spoon. I used to run it on the QNAP but needed DSD playback so had to swap to Windows. I'll switch back as soon as this functionality comes to the QNAP version.
