Tunein radio - play remote (unaltered) url without Asset being a transcoding proxy?

    Hi,

I noted that when using the Radiotime (tunein internet radio) function in the browsing tree of AssetUPnP, you are in the end listening to a stream which is rendered locally at the machine you have AssetUPnP installed to.

When using a Linn DS (kazoo using BubbleDS as a control point), or when using the Tunein native app, this does not seem to be the case. The remote stream is played without being proxy'ed through Asset.

Is there a way to get tunein radio streams without proxying them (transcoded likely) in AssetUPnP?

Unfortunately, Tunein Radio does not provide an option to play a remote URL without using their transcoding proxy. This means that when you play a remote URL on Tunein Radio, the audio stream will be passed through Tunein's servers and may be altered in some way.

If you want to play a remote URL without using Tunein's transcoding proxy, you will need to use a different app or service that supports direct playback of remote URLs. Some examples of such apps include VLC Media Player, Foobar2000, and Audacious...
