Hi im trying to set r/w permission on my nas but even though assist is installed its not listed in the application privileges and I can’t access from my audio app

The Control Panel section Application Privileges is only for Synology applications/packages. When you install Asset UPnP it should get the privileges it needs to run but you have to grant access for it to the media folders you what it to use. The easiest thing to assign read-only access to the System Internal User* Asset.
*DSM has different types of user: the one you are familiar with is probably Local Users, or LDAP Users. You have to change the drop down list selection to find the package specific users. Unless you follow my way and do it via File Station.Comment
