    Re: Above pics....

I've just found Asset UPnP, and thought I'd play with it on my Synology 423+ running DSM 7.2.2....

I have been using the excellent Universal Media Server on a PC, but want a similar experience running a DLNA server on my NAS - I can't get UMS to work in Docker, before you ask!

I have tried Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby on my NAS, but they are all just massive bloatware, geared towards video users, who mostly seem interested in what colour of toilet rolls the director prefers - they are very slow, and all but un-configurable for sensible audio use...... Hence my interest in Asset.....

Note that I have a massive music collection that is already perfectly structured for me, and is very easy to navigate, in the form - "A-B" [etc etc]/artist_name"/date - "album-name"/"Disk_number" [if applicable]/"track_number": "track_title".flac. I have a separate playlist folder that contains 120 playlists, all with correct & relative file names.

The basic Synology Media Server (and Indexer) is actually very good and very fast (important if you 10's of thousands of files) and it does let me just choose to display "Folders" and "Playlists" only, but it is unable to display folder art at "band level" or "album level" (i.e. using Folder.jpg, where it's a generic picture of the band, or a picture of the album cover. It's only when you display the individual tracks that you get to see jpg pictures as opposed to "blank graohics".

Now Asset works fine, and shows up in my StreamMagic app on my phone, which allows me to queue music on to my Cambridge Audio Evo (highly recommended, by the way). I'm now trying to find out how to configure Asset so that I can reduce the big number of data views (I call them virtual folders) that show on my control app, reducing them to just "Folders" and "Playlists" as on UMS. I don't need most of the other virtual folders to display at all, like "Genre", "latest album" or whatever. I realize those are however, good options to be able to use if you need them. Can I get some pointers about how to configure this please?

I include a picture showing Media Server displaying the right "virtual folders" (but it does not use folder.jpg files instead of "placeholder" graphics), but the last 2 pics showing how UMS can utilized "folder.jpg" at all folder levels.
