    Asset search case sensitive?

    Hi,

Has Asset search results suddenly become case sensitive or have they always been? Can't really remember having seen this before now.

    Example:
Searching for "DAVID" shows only Artists where the track tag is exactly "DAVID"
Searching for "David" shows Artists tagged with "david", "David" and "DAVID" - but NOT where Artist name contains "david", such as "Matthewdavid"
Searching for "david" shows everything in the library, i e all tracks tagged with "david", "David" and "DAVID".

Running Asset R2024-09-23 on MacOS Sequoia and Linn Kazoo for Mac and iOS and the Linn App for iOS.

    Cheers,
    Thomas

    This is by design.

Asset now implements simplified version of Unicode Asymmetric Search. This affects not just matching of lowercase/uppercase characters, but also accents etc.

If you're aware of usage scenarios where this gets in the way, please post examples, perhaps we can work something out. Overally I think this is a better behavior than being either strictly case sensitive or case insensitive.

Thanks, had a feeling it was a design choice i had missed.
No problems so far really. I only noticed because when searching streaming services and local libraries at the same time I got hits at Qobuz+Tidal but not locally. This explains why.
      Cheers,
      T.
