Updating Synology to Asset R2024-8-7

I can't find any instructions anywhere on how to upgrade a Synology NAS to Asset R2024-8-7. On the interface there's a link to get the new version, but all that does is download a file called "getupdate" that doesn't have a file extension and therefore can't be launched. Previously there was an .spk file that you could manually install via Synology's Control Panel. Have I missed something obvious?
