Not all added content appearing in New Albums playlist ?

I've noticed that some albums or tracks (a small percentage) which I add to my library don't appear in the New Albums playlist, although they do immediately appear in their respective genre correctly.

I really dig and most frequently use the New Albums playlist feature, and so it peeves me (!) when I have to go searching into the genres looking for an album I've recently added, as sometimes I don't immediately recall the correct genre which I've assigned...

Most importantly, this issue I've noticed only occurring with some MP3 files, and ALL of my content is added to my primary library in precisely the same manner with all relevant metadata intact & correct.

I've been trying to figure out why its unique to MP3's though (and very few at that)...and why they do appear in their genre but aren't shown reflected in the New Albums (or New Tracks) playlist.. any suggestions as to what could be going on are most appreciated ;-)

Btw- I'm running 4.5 (1) on OS X.

I believe it goes off the last modified date of the files, or creation date.

Well it's got to be one or the other !!
Normally for each album I add irrespective of anything else contained within their metadata, the albums quite logically appear in the New Albums playlist precisely in the chronological sequence which they are added.
This is very consistent as expected... it's just that occassionally a few titles mysteriously don't appear in that list, although they are in fact added correctly and appear in their appropriate location as determined by browsing to their denoted genre.
