Asset UPNP showing multiple instances of the same tracks

I have downloaded the free version but unable to get any sensible view on my music files. It scans the library folder but then rescans and seems to multiple the files there each time. My original 4000 tracks have now become 12000. Also it creates duplicate names and assigns artists to the wrong album as well as mixing up the album art.
First impressions are not good due to this - any thoughts?

Asset reads your metadata/tags and builds the library from that data, so normally, this would suggest a problem with your metadata/tags.

However, that fact that Asset is continually re-scanning your library suggests another problem.

Please specify your platform/OS, Asset version, audio library location (local hdd/ssd or nas)?

Hi - the asset upnp server is running on a Windows 8.1 laptop and the latest free version of your software (downloaded yesterday) from your web link so that's 4.3.
Asset control is on the laptop which shows the multiple entries and also my hifi renderer (a Cambridge Audio 851n) shows the same. The audio files sit on a Synology NAS running the latest os BUT also running the Synology media server (but can't see how that can affect this).
      Any ideas welcome

Just to let you know, it is not my software and I don't work for Illustrate.

I think I'll let someone from Illustrate help you on this one.

Make sure you only have 1 library path specified in Asset (where it is set to scan your music).

Hi, yes, there is only one path - that's quite basic. I uninstalled everything and then set up everything again. Asset spend two hours indexing the files after which everything appeared fine with only one instance of tracks and not the multiples. I hibernated the laptop for an hour and just come back to it, but all the tracks have disappeared and the album and track count has gone to zero.
There are clearly some issues with this software and it seems unable to store any details and starts over again - so it's not usable for me as I can't wait two hours for it to re-index everything each time I want to use it.
Unless you have any suggestions it's fair to say I won't be buying the full licence!!

Just to conclude - I managed to get the Asset server stable after a refresh overnight and I can see single copies of tracks - BUT when I try and play to any renderer I just see the track title for about six seconds, no sounds and then it jumps to the next track. This is using a combination of Asset Control and Asset UPNP on the same laptop.
As I am writing, Asset UPNP has decided to rescan everything again.
PS everything works fine with Universal Media Server which I installed last night so guess I will use that as neither Asset UPNP or Control are stable.
