Can't scan music folder in Openmedaivault

I installed Asset on Openmediavault successfully yesterday. I have tried many possible paths in the configuration but I have not been able to scan my music folder.

    In Windows my path is
    Code:
    \\Openmediavault\Music
What do I need to enter to get a proper scan?

I also get no audio from any internet radio stations although they appear to be streaming in BubbleUPnP.

You have to set the local path, \\Openmediavault\Music is the external network share.

If you SSH into the box and browse to find your music.

I have been trying every method to find the path at commandline that I have Googled for two days. Please elucidate exactly how to "browse" at the commandline.

you have SSH into the openmediavault device?

        you use commands such as:

        ls -l

to list the contents of the current folder and

        cd afolder

        to change into a folder

it is likely the audio is stored in: /media/ with some extra paths after this.

I created a folder named Music at the root when I setup Openmediavault. I have tested /music/ but always get zero tracks after running a long scan.

          Any other ideas?

Will a scan of a folder cover the sub folders or do the sub folders have to be added separately in configuration?

I have also tested with a sub folder /music/flac/ in configuration and failed.

My guess is that something needs to be in the path before /music (?)

Linux is case sensitive, so you would need:

            /Music/

Thanks Spoon, I already did that right. I just can't type these messages well on a little mobile screen

So /Music/ nets nothing. When I start a scan this is what I see in Putty:
              Code:
              http://10.0.0.XX:45537Refreshing Entire Library
              Restarting Asset
              Stopping UPnP service.
              Detected IP address: 10.0.0.XX
Is this what I should see if the scan is working?

Thanks Spoon I got that right. I just have trouble typing these messages on a small mobile screen

I found someone else who was having the same problem and I just tried their resolution. In order for the scan to work I must include a very long ID number for the drive in my RAID. This is highly unusual compared to all the other UPnP servers I have used. It sure would be nice if you incorporated a browse function in your GUI to drill down to the folder(s) that needs to be scanned.

Also, following your instructions to install the "free" version of Asset on Linux actually installs a 30 day trial version of v4.4. Internet radio does not work on this version and I see other posts here that indicate later versions are improving that issue.

How do i install the "free" version or later version until the internet radio issues are fully resolved? I am a long time registered DBPA user.

                Thanks!

The free version is the trial version once the trial is expired.
