asset UPnP not starting

    asset UPnP not starting

    Hi,
    Following a Windows 8 auto-update a few days ago, I had a pop-up titled "Asset UPnP Server" saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022) Click okay to close application".
    Since then I have tried uninstalling the program, rebooting the PC and the router and downloading Asset UPNP again, but the same window appears.
    Does anybody know what I can do to get it working again?

    Which version of Asset are you running?

      It's the 4.3 version

        Microsoft suggests it is security software which is blocking key system dlls (perhaps only for Asset).

          Thanks for the assist, Spoon.
          I have been right through the settings on my Kaspersky AV, and all references to Asset are set to "Allow"
          However, disabling the AV then restarting Asset resulted in a working UPnP, and re-enabling AV has not, thus far, killed it!
          I don't pretend to understand it, but as long as I don't have to keep repeating this action, I can live with it!
