Optimizing Sound Quality ... - calling spoon!

    Hi Spoon !

A few questions about the internals of Asset that might help me determine what the best settings for optimized SQ are:

    a) Does the upnp server read the entire file into memory - and then push the bytes as requested? This will help me determine whether there is any difference in SQ between storing the files on a NAS vs. on local disk. My preference would be to save files on the NAS.

    b) Is there any difference at all - in terms of bytes sent over the wire - in pushing uncompressed wav down, vs. transcoding wav to lpcm?

    Thanks in advance!

    a) No, it reads as it goes along
    b) lpcm is byte ordered differently, a transcoded wave will possibly have a different header (no tags).
