Double listings of some music titles

    Hello,

this is my first post in this forum.

Yesterday I installed Asset UPNP on my Windows 7 PC. Everything worked fine except an annoying double-listing of music titles in some album folders. Not all, but some. How can this happen? Anyone any idea?
and before you ask: the tracks are only once in the folders, not twice...

    Thanks and best,
    Tobias

In which program are you viewing these double listings?

How do you browse? by metadata (artist, etc) or file and folder browsing?

...by file and folder browsing! But in other lists like "artists" the doubles show up, too.

Do you have FLAC and mp3 files?

I think the question is whether you have mp3 and FLAC versions of the same file album/tracks (and thus both are showing up).

No, I donĀ“t. There are only one kind of files in the folders, nothing else.

                    If you look in:

                    C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

                    of

                    C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

                    is a program called:

                    uMediaLibrary-dumpdb.exe

run this, save the text file and load into excel (or similar), you can browse the raw database then looking for what might be causing the duplication.

Re: Double listings of some music titles

I seem to have a similar problem. In many Albums some (but not all) tracks appear twice in the list. When playing the album the second 'instance' of the track seems to be linked to a totally different music file. For instance in the track list of David Bowie's The Next Day the track (You Will) Set The World On Fire appears twice, but the second instance plays a track by the Talking Heads! (The artwork is from the Bowie CD, the time information is different (taken from the Talking Heads file I presume))

I use Cadence on my iPad to control the Cyrux Stream X player.

I used uMediaLibrary-dumpdb.exe and when I look in Excel there are 2 instances of (You Will) Set The World On Fire in the first column (title) but they have different numbers in the last column (ild). There are two more identical entries in the spread sheet, but they both refer to the same file location (\\NAS-ONE\media\Music\David Bowie\The Next Day\12 - (You Will) Set The World On Fire.flac) Any idea if this is normal and if not what does it mean?

There is definitely only one copy of this file on my system.
