Must be memory, less tracks = less memory used.

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
It is not possible to upgrade RAM in the Acer 340 :vmad:
I´ve now listened to some hirez tracks stored on the Acer via Asset on my Laptop. Even over WLAN no Dropouts. After switching to Asset on the Acer again Dropouts. Reducing the tracks pointed to, it works without dropouts. Can you explain that?Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
50% could be where all physical is used and the swap file is used, the process of swapping memory in and out of the hdd can stall programs. Check that there is 50% of physical memory free.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
I´ve checked the usage of memory. It is always around 50%, even when dropouts occur. So this should not be the problem.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
Potentially the system is running low on memory, if you can go for 4GBLeave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
After Reducing the Tracks to 1770 on my WHS it seems to play without dropouts. I now have "splitted" my whole Library by pointing at various subfolder instead of the main folder.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
45950 Tracks approx. and 2GB RAM.
I have linked now Laptop´s Asset to the whole Library on the WHS. On the WHS´s Asset I´ve Reduced the Library to my Hires Folder. Let´s see what will happen.Last edited by yellowspider; November 08, 2013, 08:40 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
That seems to work without dropouts. I have installed asset on my Laptop and pointed it to the highrez files on my Home Server.
Changing to the Homeserver and dropouts againLeave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
Thx for analysing. But as the Dropouts are often, the health programm shouls show hdd errors. Actually, I´ve three hdds in use. I could remove the last one and see what will happen.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
The log file showed 2 things:
The flac files were served as is, that is the audio was untouched by asset.
The serving did not have any breaks in transmission, it went out in one stream for each file.
This is to be expected, what is causing the high cpu usage I do not know, potentially if the hdd had errors on the hdd, it could make the program appear to have higher than normal cpu usage.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
So I´ve again reinstalled asset on my WHS. No success. I´ve posted the logfile, it has to be checked by the admin :-)Last edited by yellowspider; November 05, 2013, 05:08 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Asset Problems with Windows Home Server V1
I am not sure what could cause it, try enabling the debug log (on the configuration page), then when there is a skip look at the log to see what is at the end of the log (last 100 lines), post here please.Leave a comment:
