2 Asset are correct, as one launches the other, then on the very unlikely event of a program crash, it will self launch a new one (which is what you require on a headless machine). We do not keep older versions of Asset, 3 and 2 are very old, make sure you have Asset R4.1 which is very stable.

No security software on NAS. Is there a possibility to get an older Asset version 2 for checking? In the task manager i can see three asset processes. Two times asset-upnp.exe and one asset-upnpservice.exe

That is strange, because asset does nothing when serving the files, it simply moves HDD >> player 50% CPU suggests something major is going on.

Do you have security software on the NAS?

It rises up to 50% in the task manager, when the dropouts occur. The files are the original flac files

Health is ok according to hdsentinel. CPU is rising always with asset process when dropouts occur.

Try remote desktop connection to the WHS machine, have a look at task manager to make sure nothing is running and taking up CPU time, install:

Monitoring hard disk health and temperature. Test and repair HDD problems, predict disk failure.

    (the trial)

and check the health of your HDD(s)

The Acer is connected to my fritz.box router. The Majik DS is connected to a switch, which then is connected to the router. I´ve also tried the connection of the DS directly without switch and also connected it via Dlan to the router to make sure, that the cable is ok. Always with dropouts :-(

The Acer connects to a switch or router and the player connects to the same?
