Album artwork, only, missing

Hi,
I have downloaded some music from Linn and they always embed their artwork as a png, so I use Microsoft paint to convert it to jpeg and then I use mp3 tag to tag the artwork to each song. Ok so far so good, however the artwork shows up for each song on album, and when searching in artists and when looking in new album folders , the album artwork displays, however it does not display in the album/ all albums folder which is the one I use. I am using asset 4.0

You are best to store the art as folder.jpg in the same folder as the album.

Strange one, this, Album artwork appeared under every folder except album/ all albums. even on my sonos system the artwork appeared on album search, however i got it sorted by going into asset through Whs server and doing a complete database rescan, for some reason the artwork appeared in albums after this, so all is well. New User, System Sony Laptop, Windows 7(64bit) dbVersion 14.3 Have successfully ripped first 26 CDs using multi-encoder to FLAC and MP3 including selected ART work, normally as smallest file ....say less than 20kb. Have read your Set Up instructions
Am using Windows Media player to display and check files....However over a 2/3day period the Album artwork has just disappeared on a random basis from 5 of the albums with one duplicating onto another album as I have tried to recover the art work (using relatively simple windows commands). I have even deleted a complete album file and reripped with art selection and this has not registered.
Interestingly 4 out of the 5 albums are Classical
Have I identified and registered the artwork correctly? - I have read Forum and am simply confused as to what basic steps are needed to recover artwork from internet to place into an existing file i.e. without re-ripping or from a scan file .jpeg that I have now generated.
What program window do I open - what file - how do I differentiate between album file and track file - do I add album art to album or each track
Also confirm you prefer a .jpq file, what is it? I assume a .jpeg remains a valid option file type?
Simple command steps would be appreciated for someone who does not understand program developers jargon.

Not sure if this is your problem, but do keep in mind that Window Media Player does all sorts of nasty things to your metadata/artwork. It modifies things without your knowledge. At a minimum, you should check all WMP options to set it to NOT change or retrieve any metadata. You might consider switching to Foobar2000 or WinAmp as a player on your PC as well.

Also, .jpg and .jpeg are the same I believe.

You are absolutely correct. I have checked my files(mainly the classical rips) and my mp3 files are in a mess. tracks from one file have been transferred to other albums as have art work There is no option but to delete several and start again. I did rip one classical disc after changing WMP options as you suggested and ended up with a ripped copy with little or no meta data when viewed in WMP. Although db ripper had pulled the data up off the internet.
What occurred to me was the following - when viewing db ripped files in WMP the WMP program actually displays the meta data that WMP has pulled off the internet and not the files from the db data base.
Is this possible? thereafter if you manage the file in WMP you are managing the wrong data ....?
Thanks for the advice on Foobar etc but my Yamaha Av Receiver uses WMP to pull info off my laptop

Update; Have removed auto access to internet for WMP. For the record I used "multi encoder" for my first 24 Cds All meta data and AA the same during ripping
For those just starting out with db the following list shows how using WMP scrambled my files before internet access removed
AA is Album Art and F is the db Extraction file
Number represents Tracks that are OK
The Flac file corruption is likely down to my trying various corrections between the files
