    Album data display problem

I'm not sure if this is something to do with my system, or a bug recently introduced. I use a RipNAS and a Linn system with Kinsky.

Track data from certain albums seems to be displayed differently. On certain albums at track level, the Artist data is displayed, on others it is the year of album release. I initially thought that it only happened when I had multiple albums in the Artist folder, but it also seems to happen the I've only got one album from a particular artist too.

I don't know quite where to start in de-bugging this one. The data looks similar in mp3tag, and if there was something in either Kinsky or Asset, then wouldn't all tracks be affected?

    Anyone with something similar?

    Curiouser and curiouser.......

If you browse by 'Album by Release' then you would get the year showing in the album title, is this what you are seeing?

It's more that I am trying to set up a consistent display regime. After opening the album, I want to see the track title and the artist printed below it. This is useful when playing "various artists" type music. What I have now is that certain albums do indeed display this, and certain others display the year of release. What I can't understand, is that if the issue is either with Asset or Kinsky, then surely all albums would display one attribute or the other, rather than a mixture of the two.

I'm at work at the moment, but I'll try and enclose some screen shots when I get home tonight.

In the examples below, the Claire Martin folder displays the way I would expect.

And then to the next level

All well and good. But now we go to another artist

Selecting an album at random, it displays the year of release rather than the artist

Try running 'Asset Control' to look at the same view, it is in the beta section of this forum.

Similar, but not quite as bad. In Kinsky, the Claire Martin album shows correctly as it does in Asset Control. However, in Kinsky the Acoustic Alchemy shows the release date, and in Asset Control, shows nothing.

That album is possibly missing the track artists, so kinsky shows the year for some reason.
