    normalize volume

    Hi,
sometimes I convert some youtube audio in mp3 (basically children songs), I tag them with mp3tag and I play them with a upnp player (naim uniti) from asset upnp. The problem is that the volume level of the different songs is always different, ho can I normalize at the same level for all the songs ?

    Re: normalize volume

You would have to apply replaygain tags to the tracks, then set asset to transcode mp3 >> Wave and enable the volume normalize option.

There are various tools which can replaygain tracks, such as dBpoweramp (install dBpoweramp, install the utility codec '[ReplayGain]' and convert your tracks, setting the encoder as [Replaygain]:

      Re: normalize volume

      Thanks, 2 questions more:
      1) how can i know if my naim uniti player is able to read ReplayGain tags ?
      2) why set asset to transcode mp3 >> Wave, is it not possible to use ReplayGain with mp3?

        Re: normalize volume

Asset uses the replaygain (it decodes the file, hence you decode mp3 >> wave so asset can adjust the volume whilst it does this).
