    Filter compilation albums

When I browse the Asset server "Artist / Album", I get first a list of all the artists on my server.
After I have choice a artist, I can select a album to play.

When I make a selection, I like to see only artists where the album compilation tag = off
How can I make this selection

      Re: Filter compilation albums

      hello,

i have some difficulties with this too.

when browsing the artist in Album Artist / Album category, i see an entry for each interpreter of an album though my tag are :
interprete = "name of the player"
artist of the album = "Various Artist"

is there a way to make that i only see the files when browsing "the album" (not an entry per musician of the album/compilation). in other words, what i'd like to obtain, is that the files of the CD, let's say's, " best jazz voices" are not display with an entry for, Diana Krall+an entry for Stacey Kent+...JUST an entry for the album " best jazz voices"

apologies for my "poor" english explanation", and once again, thks for your help

Various Artist should be in 'Album Artist' and you should check the compilation tag.

The compilation tag would have been added when you ripped the disks. If you didn't add it then you can add later with a tag editor. Are you sure you have these tags in your files?

you can easily add in mp3tag. just load up all your compilation albums in mp3tag. then create a tag for all of them: COMPILATION
Then the compilation tag is given a value of "1" indicating that the album is a compilation. If you can easily filter the right albums, doing this should take about 5 seconds to handle it all.

edit: and of course you can also do this with dbpa and use ID TAG UPDATE. For future rips, you should indicate that the album is a compilation when ripping and then the tag will do that. not sure how that is done in EAC, but in dbpa there is a field showing that in the ripping screen and you just check the box that something is a compilation.

i will try with the tag "COMPILATION" and will consider ripping my new CD with dbpa. does it work just as a ripper or is it a "tag manager" too ?
