Asset finds zero tracks & zero albums : help!

Suddenly Asset tells me there are zero tracks and zero albums in the library (should be 13390 and 2150). I try to rescan but Asset does not run. Going to services.msc I restart Asset. I'm told it it has started - but it's untrue : Asset still does not run. After a few hours I casually click on refresh and it starts rescanning. At the end of the scan it shows the correct number of tracks and albums - everything OK ? No, because Asset control shows nothing in the archives (folders & filenames browsing), for all orchestras states ''unknown orchestra'' and so on... I try to refresh and again I heve zero tracks and zero albums...
What has happened to Asset ?

It is likely Asset no longer has access to your NAS

Right! Double click on the Nas ikon and Asset starts again. Thank you, Spoon.
But what I cannot undestand is why this happens now quite often and never did for the last year or so ?

Either the NAS is refusing access, or Windows is forgetting the password.

Too good to last... After a few minutes of normal use, now when I click on Composers, for instance, or Orchestras , or Conductors, I get ''Unable to retrieve listing''.
              (But the NAS is accessible).

Something is possibly blocking it, security software?
