feature request DSF DFF DSD audio file support

    hi,

Asset UPnP is a great product!

And there is a new feature I wanted. Support for DSD native audio file in .DSF and .DFF (DSDIFF) formats.

Currently, there are 3 UPnP AV servers that support native DSD files:

    - foobar2000 UPnP plugin, when the SACD plugin is installed, the UPnP server also serves native DSD files in .DSF and .DFF formats, but, the current UPnP plugin v0.35, does not natively stream DSD, one needs to "hack" the UPnP plugin to force it to support audio file in 2.8Mhz format, once "hacked", both .DSF and .DFF formats can stream in native DSD, with full tag support.

    - minimServer, latest version supports .DFF file, but no tag support

    - J.River MC, latest version supports both .DSF and .DFF formats, with full tag support, BUT J.River MC has a fatal shortcoming (IMO) since the beginning, it will always down scale cover art to 400x400 pixels, which is IMO make the program useless.

Both foobar2000 UPnP and J.River MC are UPnP renderer as well. I can use any UPnP Controller, play native .DSF and .DFF files from 3 different servers to 2 different renderers.

If Asset UPnP can support native .DSF and .DFF files, with tag, then I don't need to "hack" foobar2000, and dump J.Rive MC!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
It would be very cool to have the dBpoweramp tools to use on DSD ,dsf and .dff format files.
    thanks Robert

DSD (Direct Stream Digtal) is the audio format used for Super Audio CDs (SACD). This codec is able to decode .dff files (DSD Interchange File Format). At this time of writing, it is not possible to read the audio from a SACD disc as no PC based drives exist. DSD is an unusual format in that it is 1 bit with a very high sample
