    Asset scanning library forever

    Hi,

I just installed asset on my windows 7 enterprise 64, new install, running mode - service, under advanced settings added a directory.
After a while, the configuration panel displayed status: counting files, and after a while, status: Scanning Library, track 0 of 701.
    After few hours nothing changed.
Trying to disable, enable, restart, pressing refresh, doesn't matter. It scans nothing.
Asset is visible on the network, so is the directory structure. EMPTY.

    Any ideas ?

Asset looks really promising, but does it work ???

What coul I possibly do wrong ?

TVersity and few others works without any problems, but I'm still looking for the best media server.

Make sure you try Asset v4 which releases very soon, it is in the beta section of this forum.

I tried v4 beta. also tried the default, user account mode - works perfectly, and the scanning is really fast. Still, the service version doesn't sca anything, showing ZERO tracks.
I have few users on a machine, so I'd like not to have to log in to have asset running, so the service is a great idea.

Perhaps the service account does not have access rights to read the files? especially if on an network share.

Nope. The directory is on local disk and has full access rights for everyone.
