    Spacing problems and commas

    Hi,

    Love Asset but I have an annoying problem in that for some album artists there is a comma at the end. What is causing this? Display is fine with other servers (have also checked the tags).

    Also when viewing the tracks in a particular album, the first track is displayed one character to the left of the others except for the last track (and sporadically some others) where it is displayed one character to the right (as if there is a blank character). Again this seems peculiar to Asset.

    I would expect the format spacing to be uniform.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Other servers might take artist1, artist2 and split them, where as Asset will use the ID Tag standard for the audio format, for flac that is:

    artist=artist1
    artist=artist2

    internally (note there is no comma anywhere), a tag editing program might show as artist1; artist2 but this is a representation, not how they are stored.

      Sorry, can you elaborate. I don't understand what you are saying.

      Also, what do I need to do to correct the tags. Can this be done using MediaMonkey or Tag&Rename?

      What about the track name spacing issue?

        It is possible a helper is padding the track name, as for a disc listing it prepends the track number for some control points.

        You can switch off these helpers in Asset Configuration.

        If you have dBpoweramp installed, right click on the file >> Edit ID Tag

        what does it show for the album artist?

          What seems to be happening on the track listing is that because the first track starts with "1" and this character takes up less width than "2", it causes the text of the title to start more to the left. Similarly, when you get to "10" the title is more to the right. The constant is the space between the track number and title. Should this gap adjust itself so that the title text always starts in the same place?

            You are referring to Asset UPnP server, or Asset Control the control point?

                Asset does not determine spacing on the player, it only sends text strings.

                Try switching off all the helpers mentioned.

                  Hi,

                  What are helpers? Presumably they are under the general setting under advanced.

                  Sorry, new to this but looking to purchase if I can get it to play ball.
