No artwork to pc win 7

    Hi,
I have a problem, one of my first after running asset for 3 years. I upgraded to davaar 5 a linn control point system, I have a linn klimax ds system an Ava rs3 server using whs and asset 3 free version. The problem is that I have album artwork on my iPad no problem but have none on my win 7 pc a toshiba satellite, fairly new. Obviously I am using kinsky latest version to control asset. I have switched off the server, rescaned the library and reloaded a new version of kinsky and still no luck. What would be wrong?
I started having a similar problem before christmas after loading davaar 5, in that my saved playlists in kinsky were still there but no artwork appeared, they played ok, funny thing is that on songbook lite about 80% of the artwork on the saved playlist appears but none with kinsky. Is there a problem with my asset or whatever? I did go back over Christmas to davaar 3 for a while but no artwork appeared on the playlists with kinsky. Not sure everything is relevant, but it may be connected. Any suggestions would be very welcome, so would an idiots guide to upgrade to the asset premium service please, I have been meaning to do this for a while, then I will have my playlists in a safer place.

Do you get artwork when browsing, say Artists >> Album?

      Hi,
No I don't get any artwork on any of the laptops in my house all about a year old when using kinsky desktop, a day or two ago the first 9 or so albums had artwork but nothing else once you scrolled down, on the pc the only artwork that comes up is on the now playing screen and eventually on the playlist as long as it is new and not one of the old saved ones. The iPad 2 is behaving normally with artwork everywhere and quickly. Normally it is kinsky on the laptop that is bulletproof.

      Lyric, thanks for the help

        As a test try:

Asset Control (a UPnP / DLNA control point) is billed as the control point you have been waiting for . In UPnP there are: Server / Control Point / Renderer, where the Server catalogues tracks, Control Point creates playlists from the Server and controls the Renderer (player), all 3 elements of UPnP could reside on the same

          Heh heh,
Thats great, all artwork on 751 albums up like a shot:smile2: looks great, doesnt control the volume like kinsky does but it works, it would be nice to have volume. How does this help you with my kinsky on windows 7, bearing in mind kinsky is working no problem still on my ipad. thankyou again for your attention.

I dont know what asset control has done but on kinsky the artwork started to load very very slowly, so on a non scientific whim I cleared the saved playlist with the artwork that would not load and closed kinsky down and re launched and bam, kinsky is up and running at full speed again, when I reloaded one of the saved playlists with no artwork the library loaded but about every 12 albums 4 would be missing, so I just deleted the playlist and the album artwork in Library loaded instantly. Its a pity I have lost my saved playlists and i dont know what interaction has caused this, I have asked linn to help me a few weeks ago to try and get the artwork back as i blame davaar 5 for causing this, they keep asking me questions but havent given me a definitive answer. I am Avalon on the Linn forums and have always recommended your software over twonky as i never have bother. I am taking my own advice tonight and want the premium asset service please and i am computer useless, so do i launch my WHS and from its start button choose internet explorer and then go to your web site and click on purchase and hopefully everything will be self explanatory?

            Regards

You can purchase on your normal PC, then install as per the installation instructions provided.

Ok will do it in the morning, thanks for getting everything working. I would still like to know how and will I ever get my old playlists working with their artwork again? Oh and does your control point not control the volume like kinsky?

                Goodnight

Not if the volume control device is a separate item which is a linn extension, which is not part of the UPnP standard.
