Hi Spoon, (or anybody else with Raumfeld and Asset experience)
I have dropout problems using the Internet radio and I am quite sure
it is a problem of Asset and the Renderer not working well together.
I have a Raumfeld System.
I hope you know something of it.
In the Raumfeld System there is a base that sets up a Virtual Renderer
(named ROOM) which connects multiple physical Raumfeld Renderers to play
synchronous.
Even if you are using only one Renderer you have to set up a ROOM
for the physical renderer to work.
The Base also works as a music server and is (as Asset) connected to Tune In.
When I call up a Internet Radio Station via the Raumfeld Base using the Raumfeld Controller
there is no problem.
As I have only one controller but more than one Room I want to use my Android phone
to call up Radio Stations.
As there is no official Android Controller Sofware for Raumfeld
and the 3rd party app RAUMote is not working well for me
I tried different controlpoints (Bubble Upnp / Andromote)
As they are not able wo work with the RAUMFELD BASE as a server
I tried them using Asset (using Asset 4 beta ) as a server.
This works nearly well but not really good enough for daily use.
The start of the Internet stream works quite well.
Fast enough and with no dropouts for the first minutes.
(In comparison uplayer.exe starts faster but has some dropouts for the first
few seconds - I guess until the buffering is working)
But after a few minutes there are regulary dropouts (maybe one every 5-10 minutes)
lasting for about 10 secs. Usually starting the stream again by itself
but sometimes you even have to start it manually again.
I do not Know much of how streaming really works but I presume,
that any device in a stream sets up some kind of buffer.
Is that true for Asset directing to Tune IN ?
Is there a way to control the size of the buffer ?
Or am I completely wrong about this Assumption ?
Or Is there anything else one can do about it.
( I already tried to set Radio to WAVE but it doesn't really better the situation)
THX for any ideas
