eq from PC soundcard to asset?

Hi, I'm finding that more and more I am enjoying spotify and last.fm from my PC soundcard to Linn KDS. However the sound quality isn't fantastic and would benefit from eq. Is there a good way to get eq into the datastream somehow?

I tried the realtek eq but that only affects the audio outs and not the datastream into asset.
