Does Asset dither when serving 24bit files as L16?

    Title says it all.
I'm catching the 24/96 bug and L24 mode is not yet working with my player (and may never). 24/96 files sound degraded when played through Asset as compared to burning a wav file and playing the same file through the CD transport tray. So I'm guessing that Asset is probably truncating to obtain L16 or doing some other simple operation.

It would be great if in general, a DSP could be added to data being served by Asset in real time. This would negate a need to replicate the collections by applying DSP non-real time and unnecessarily taking up disk space.

(:smile2:Three years from now I'll be asking a similar question the other way around: can the iZotope upsampler be added as an Asset DSP plugin to convert 16/44.1 to 24/96 in real time? Might as well ask it now.)

    There is no dithering.
