    fyi

I don't think this is really on:

    www.psaudio.com/ps/forum/viewthread/1619/P45/ *blooper* 12650

If you replace [ blooper ] with a hash/pound symbol, you will see that Asset is being described as 'notorious for screwing up the sound' by the CEO, who is developing competing software. Which would be fine to say, if it were true.

I snapped the page so you can take a look as it is now:

    Yeah, post number 55 http://www.psaudio.com/ps/forum/viewreply/12647/

I asked for some fact-based information to support McGowan's assertion that "We know J River and Asset are notorious for screwing up the sound, Twonky less so but certainly the settings can mess things up"

Indeed competing software can be a real tongue loosener....you know put a little doubt in peoples minds.

I will not jump in on this one, but will watch as his own users grill him it is funny these sort of companies who have been making expensive cables/dacs/what-ever are well used to making quality claims, yet they do not realise when it comes down to CD Ripping and digital audio delivery they will get their ass handed to themselves on a plate if they make such claims.

As a test if someone would care to have a fresh install of Asset, switch the debug log on in asset and play a file on they system, the log will show if the audio is supplied as is.

He's now backing away from the statement...saying that problems will arise if the software isn't configured properly by the user.

Glad I could do my part to hold him accountable! :D
