    Library build up

    Hi all,

2 days ago i installed asset, i did quite a research till i choose the best stream server.

Everything runs smooth, however when asset tries to build the library,

    1. it takes ages- more than 1 day (i have 8500 files)
    2. 2 exe files drain my cpu resources (100% amd be-2350)

Even how, i read that this is normal.

Today, i was eager to see my library done, but was frustrated when i noticed that procedure has started from the beginning (400 out of 8500).

Why? i cannot sustain utilizing all my resources and nothing happens.

Is there something i need to tune/change?

    Thanks in advance,

              uMediaLibrary-ReadTags.exe & uMediaLibrary.exe, ~ 55-45% respectively.

              Scanning status is 280/8500 now (80 tracks/hr), data on a wd640aaks.

Do you have any anti-virus software installed? something does not sound right, it should not be 1 file a minute, rather 60 a minute.

update 320, so it validates the 80tracks/hr.

is there something which slows the process? does asset downloads artwork hence the delay?

No it simply opens the file and scans the ID Tags.

No i dont have antivirus on it, its plain whs. I was tweaking a bit the services but rather than that, nothing else.

                      This update rate is..:vmad:

PS. the only problem that exists is ATI drivers.

i checked the event log, only error exists is windows time which i had disabled. My network configuration consists a modem-router (thompson tg585 rev7) wired to an access point (linksys wrt32gl). WHS is connected with linksys via ethernet.

Its 1:30am here, i am going for sleep, server is online, talk to you tomorrow.
